Weddings Here, Weddings There, Weddings EVERYWHERE!

I have reached the age where there are a lot more weddings to attends... I know there isn't an age, but I mean the age where people I know close to my age start to get married... Which is a little weird, but also exciting. I love weddings and I have an issues analyzing and judging them too (sorry), but it gets me thinking about my wedding. I have been engaged for almost 2 years in May and  Brandon and I have yet to have our wedding mainly cause we want a dream wedding. However, with all these weddings we have been to or are going to be at these next coming  months and into next year... Jeremy and Marcela, My Dad and Susan, Aunt Sue and Jay, Nick and Natalie and Karen and Billy. Brandon has caught wedding fever.. he wants to have our wedding sooner.. which we won't cause we don't have the money to yet. BUT on the upside this opened the discussion on our wedding. Meaning, Brandon was willing to talk about it.. without groaning and saying "I don't know! do whatever".

Now, thinking about our wedding I had a vision in my head. We plan on having our wedding at either The Sagamore Resort on Lake George, Bolton Landing, New York or The Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, CA.  The reasons these two place were chosen is because we want our wedding to be a week long wedding. Since we plan on having it June 19th. So we want a place which is historical, grand and beautiful and represents the idea of Vintage America. Also, a hotel that can accommodate ALL my guests in more then one way. Both these hotels have activities for kids and families. Spas that can relax my guests and my bridal party and a golf course for the guests and boys to use. I plan on keeping all my guests busy. The Sagamore Resort is the 1st choice but the downside is that it is farther away and makes planning more difficult, but Hotel Del Coronado is a delightful runner up if we choose to go ahead with it and make the planning easier. I am not sure.

So.. the whole reason I decided to write this blog is for the idea of the theme. I was REALLY set on our original theme Vintage, Old America. Very laid back, simple and elegant summer wedding. With  the colors of red and navy, accented with white. This  was originally chosen since Brandon was in the Marines and would be wearing his Dress Blues during the wedding. I like this theme a lot, Then Brandon and I got to talking about our wedding today and something in me changed. It started with Brandon asking if the color green could be incorporated, in the wedding.. and so I went onto The Knot to get ideas with green and I saw a picture of GORGEOUS blue dresses and although red is my FAVORITE color, I really liked the idea of Blue in the wedding as well... So I was thinking about it and went on to Perezhilton.com (this had nothing to do with my thoughts of weddings, I was just on the site) and there was an ad for Wedding Invitations and I decided to have a look, because I like want Unique Invites and Save The Dates, So I look wherever I can to find that.. while searching my eyes fell up this invite....

And Then THIS idea hit me Peacock Colors...Jewel Blue, Jewel Greens, Jewel Purples.. PRETTY Colors and then the idea of a more  20's themed weddings, which can still have Old Vintage America ties to it, but with a little more glam! I like both Theme Ideas, but I was curious what your guys thoughts are? Help me Please!

Focus, Focus, Focus!

I started another blog! I am pretty sure I am crazy! But This one is now about fashion and it is on Tumblr.. I feel like I betrayed Blogger, but everyone else is on tumblr. So I thought I would give it a whirl.
Here is my Fashion Blog http://fellintofashion.tumblr.com/
I have also failed, to be a loyal blogger to my personal blog. = / Oops. However, my book blog The Lost Book Reports is really taking off.. although it doesn't really matter since it's not like I get paid for it.. but it is nice to know that there is someone besides my mom and fiance out there reading what I type.. even if I type it horribly and ALWAYS forget to spell check.
My life has taken the turn for the better (or so I hope) Because last month I had surgery! I am SO SO SO happy to have had my surgery, to be diagnosed and mostly fixed and to now live a real life since, I haven't been able to do that in awhile. So what did you have surgery for you ask? Well the main reason I had surgery was for Endometrosis (google it) but while they were in there they found a few other things like scaring, a HUGE hernia, IC in my bladder and so forth. However, a month later and I am pretty much all healed up. Along with this surgery I was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance and I am now gluten - free (or trying to be.. it is SO SO SO hard) as well as being diagnosed with IC ( a bladder problem) which also requires its own diet! and then a longer list of things... but I am glad to know what is wrong with me FINALLY.

Along with that these next few months seem like they are going to be very busy, stressful, expensive and hopefully won't break me. Starting this Sunday Brandon and I will be attending our first wedding together in San Diego for his Step- Brother's wedding, Then Brandon has his Mom's Birthday and his Brother Nick's Bachelor Party in Late May... So that requires us to drive up north. THEN we have THREE weddings which are 1 week from each other and they are up North as well and 2 of those weddings are on the same day! And then Brandon Has a gaming Tournament. Plus there is a possible move in there, a new job, birthdays and holiday's all mixed in between this mess. Whoever said growing up was easy was a big fat liar.. cause as much as I LOVE doing all this stuff I see Gifts that have to be bought, outfits that have to be bought and lots of traveling and ALL of this equals lots of money! Money that really Brandon and I don't have at the moment. Yet, we do it for family right? Don't get me wrong all of this is crazy and stressful, but at the same time I am REALLY excited for it.

Like this week is out first wedding we are going to and I am excited because of that but also a lot of Brandon's family is coming down south for it and not just that but we get to be dressed  up and have a mini vaca in San Diego. Even If it's only for a day. It will be fun!

Now, I am getting a little sleepy eyed, So I will up date you on more of my life later... and hopefully that will happen more sooner than usual.

Uhm Really?

I don't even know where to begin, cause this post is about to be a giant vent, but before that... I'll update you on what is going on in my life.  Which is has always not a whole lot. 2011 is going to be my year. Just so you all know. I just need to get there. Step by Step Right?  My one dilemma in life is that I love doing so many different things that I am alright at, However.. I haven't found something I am GREAT at. As you can tell by my million blogs. Which you should go check out if you haven't. Hmm What else...? Oh! I redecorated my studio.. which is nice, but that is still a work in progress (so pictures at another time).. Brandon got me a new cellphone, a Blackberry Curve as an early Valentines Day gift = ) So, it's nice to be able to be in contact with society in that way. Today was my first day of Classes.. but we won't get into that.. and on a sadder note... January 31st we had to put Brandon's childhood dog to sleep = /.

So, Here is my Vent. It is something I haven't vented about publically because for the most part I don't like to cause drama and cause I really don't like to talk about it. However, It has been building up inside and I just want to get out.. and I can say it better in a blog then verbally. Maybe no one will read it.. maybe someone will.. I don't care at this point.

I have always been a social person. I have always gone out of my way for others, especially my friends. You see I am the kind of friend who is madly loyal. I have a core group of close friends and then acquaintances pretty much. However, I have never felt my efforts were reciprocated, but I did it anyways. That is fine with me for the most part. It's when it starts being abused, turned around on me or, blatantly unnoticed that my feelings really get hurt. I am naturally a social person. I like going out and having fun, but lately I have become more introverted and some of it by choice, but most of it not. I can't pinpoint when the downfall began exactly, but the turning point would be my last year of high school.

You see, in middle school and high school I was ALWAYS sick and I would see many doctors and they would all say I was fine.. I knew I wasn't. My friends would ask what was up and I would tell them the latest theory only for it to fall through. Soon I stopped telling my friends anything, cause I could see the judgement in their eyes, just like my doctors. Nothing is wrong with her, she is just making it up, she just doesn't want to go to school. I became severely depressed my last year of high school. If I wasn't going to school cause I was sick, I wasn't going because I literally couldn't get out of bed, I was so depressed. You can ask my mom, I was a mess. The Non-stop crying, literally melting into my bed. I just didn't want to exist. I sometimes feel like that now on a bad day or days like today when I am reminded of these times. I was recently diagnosed with a whole bunch of medical issues and I thank my lucky stars that I found Dr. Cook and that he actually listened to my problems and solved them. All of them are big in there own way but the 2 problems that kept me from living my life in middle school and high school and sometimes now are Endometreosis and my allergy to Gluten! Which Means I try to be Gluten free as much as possible.. it is quite hard.

When my friends left for their 1st year of college. I tried to stay in touch as much as possible. I'd write them letters, visit them, and hang out when they came into town. Then something changed. I don't understand exactly why.. and I don't think it is fair and how it all went down just kind of sucks. I started dating Brandon and all of a sudden there was a shift. I don't understand this... my friends all of a sudden didn't want to hang out with him as a group. Invite him and I anywhere and eventually just not inviting me. Now, I understand that there is girl time and couple time and stuff. I never had a problem with this.. BUT they NEVER wanted Brandon around. It was like I was only theirs and I couldn't be shared. Was this cause I devoted so much of my time to them in high school? I don't know. I didn't find it fair cause I never had a problem when they wanted to go hang out with their boyfriends, or have their boyfriends hang with us, but some how the feeling wasn't mutual.

And Then I got Engaged. Lets just say the joy your friends are suppose to have for you, when you get engaged, was never shared with me. Which is absolutely heartbreaking to me, cause I would happy for them. I understand I was/am young and Brandon and I do have our problems.. but I didn't say yes, without thinking through it. That is when people really started treating me differently. and I lost two of my Best Friends.. people I considered sisters and had always been there for. (I won't re-call the whole incident cause It really hurts me to talk about it) but that is when I felt like parents do when they get divorced. My other two friends in the group had to split their time between me and the other two girls and it felt like I was on the losing end.

Then Somehow  it all turned on me and I was the bad friend? I didn't call them to hang out.. I didn't make the effort. but doesn't it work both ways. I have commented their facebooks, I have text them, I have invited them to go out with me, to hang out, to my birthday. Only to be given a second of their time. They haven't taken time out of their day to call me to hang out, to go to lunch, to a party, they haven't texted me or commented on my facebook... So tell me how am I the only one at fault how am I the bad friend? Why do I feel like I am the one being punished? How is THAT fair?  It kills me when I see "friends" all together at a party that I wasn't invited.. when they all made the effort to drive to Santa Barbara to hang out.. yet they couldn't drive 5 minutes out of there way for my birthday party? When I asked if you were going to that persons house for a party (when you knew I already couldn't go) and lie to my face saying they aren't having it... only to see the pictures on facebook. WHY LIE?! I couldn't go anyways... so why couldn't you tell me. My favorite would be during Christmas when I was clearly in town and ALL I WANTED to do was hang out with friends and party and no one invited me out... but you did carry on the tradition I started, without me. You know the sad thing.. is I wanted to move to So. Cal so bad, but I mainly did it so I could be closer to all my "friends". So, If I stopped making extravagant efforts to hang out.. can YOU really blame me?

Saturday Night Cooking #2 ...Kinda

So, Instead of waiting to make dinner on  Monday.. Brandon was over today, So.... we I made dinner for us tonight. This was the second meal in the Betty Crocker 20 minutes or less section.

The Meal
- Crispy Potato Chip Chicken
With Steam Cheese and Broccoli and Mashed Potatoes
and Yellow Tail Pinot Grigio

Lay's Potato Chips with Parsley and Egg mixed with Worcestershire Sauce

 The Chicken "breaded"

Placing the chicken onto the pan

Cooking the chicken

The Finished Product.

Overall the meal was good, although next i will substitute the Original Lays with BBQ or Sour Cream to give it a little more flavor. The Broccoli and Cheese was yummy as well as the mashed potatoes. Also, since this was a quick meal, I used instant mashed potatoes from Idahoan, they are SO yummy, inexpensive and really quick to make. Brandon and enjoyed the meal and will try the more flavored version next time.

But.... I WANT It!

I don't know about you ladies, but when I WANT something, for me it means I have fallen in love and I am guilty of falling in love with an item on several occasions. The feeling you get when you first lock eyes, it's exactly what you've wanted, it is the right shape, the right color, the right fit...the right everything and then the realization you can't have it right away. That tinge of heartbreak, then the constant lusting of said item. The worry that the item will get snatched up and you won't ever get to have it. UGH that feeling of desperation, where you would do anything to have it right then and there. Yup, ladies we all know that feeling. Sometimes it is just lust, sometimes you never get the item and you move on or find something better, other times it's heartbreak, when you want something so bad and then it's sold out never to be yours or anyone elses but you always thinks about it, and then sometimes there is a happy ending where you get to live happily forever after with your item.

I really wish it ended with option #3, but I am not extremely rich and even when I work hard for it, I am still 21 and the little cash I do make, goes to well life. So, the Loves, wants and need it's have to turn into lusts and heart breaks. Many many heart breaks, but one day I will have many many happily forever afters.

Monday Night Cooking #1

The Story
While watching Julie & Julia... I decided that I wanted to cook my way through a cook book and for Christmas my Dads girlfriend Susan, got me a Betty Crocker Cookbook, the way it is set up makes it hard to really cook through, but I will manage. Given I have limited funds at the moment I have limited this cooking experiment to Monday nights as of now. This being that Monday nights are the only night that My fiance and I are really both free. So last night I begun looking through the cook book and decided I would start in the very back at 20 minute or Less Meals. I opened the section and started with the first meal. The first meal being Maple and Pecan Chicken. I was hesitant at first given that I am extremely picky, however the goal of this whole thing was to get my fiance and I to try new foods. Then reading the whole recipe I realized that the pecans where used more for flavoring and that i didn't have to eat them along with the food and I was happy to try this meal haha. So, I went shopping got what I needed, put on my cool apron that my Cousin Selina got me for Christmas and began cooking.

The Meal
Maple and Pecan Chicken
with Yellow Rice, Buttered Peas
and Menage a Trois White Wine

Putting the Chicken Breast into the pan of melted butter and salt.

Just opening up the jar of pecans... notice my CUTE apron

Browning my chicken breasts in maple syrup and pecans
Browned Chicken and yellow rice boiling in the back.

The dinner table all set up.

 The Final Product.

The Rating
When Brandon heard what the meal was.. he was hesitant to eat the chicken, but once we both ate the chicken, we were happy campers and enjoyed the whole meal. We would most definitely eat it again

If you would like the recipe just ask me = )

Oh The Holidays!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I haven't typed in awhile due to being busy and as usual.. life has been somewhat boring. However, the Holiday's have come and gone and I had a wonderful time.

Thanksgiving my Fiance and I stayed down south and met up with friends and went to Disneyland. We had a great two days with them at Disneyland and on Thanksgiving we went to the Hilton for an all you can eat buffet. These are just some of My favorite pics from the trip.

Then Christmas comes along and that is where it gets quite hectic. My Dad's Side of the family has a Christmas dinner in early December, so Brandon and I drove to Northern California for that, we had a fun night with family, the kiddies opened gifts and life was good. Here is a pic of my Aunt Jackie and I cleaning the dishes.

From there Brandon and I drove back to Southern and stayed down south for about a week.. during that week, we met up with his Aunt Kelli, Uncle Curt and cousins Blake and Nicolette at Disneyland.. although I went home sick for the most part and came back later at night. It was also Brandon's 21st birthday during that week... we didn't do too much just went to two bars and had dessert at Bob's Big Boy.

Then we drove back up North the 23rd and spent Christmas Eve with Brandon's Side. We Began the night Opening gifts  at his mom's with his Mom, Nana, Bumpa and Brother.. and then we went of to a family friends home for dinner. It was a really fun night!

Christmas Day was not so great.. we were suppose to go to Brandon's Dads for Christmas in El Dorado Hills, but I was sick and on our drive we got lost for 6 hours basically. We ended getting to his Dad's as the whole family was leaving, we got to spend time though with his Dad, Brothers, His Step-Mom and His Brother's Fiance Natalie though = ) Here is the only picture we took that day.. and you can tell I just don't feel well..

Then The day after Christmas is my Mom's side of the families Dinner and White Elephant.

Then came New Years Eve.. This NYE was spent in Placerville for Nick and Natalie's Engagement Party... This Is Brandon's Younger Party. Then After the Party Brandon and I went over to his Nana and Bumpa's where we rung in the New Year with them and had some extremely YUMMY wine.

The Next Morning Brandon and I went to Breakfast with his Nana and Bumpa and then drove around El Dorado. These are some of the pics I took on our drive and I can't say enough how perfect of a way to begin 2011.
